Chris Petz
GUITARIST/COMPOSER
Chris Petz is a New York City based musician who has been performing for over 25 years. He is an expert jazz guitarist with other specialties including singing, composing, arranging, recording, and mixing. His expertise extends into several genres such as blues, funk, rock, and pop.
He studied at the University of Vermont and the Mannes School of Music. He has performed and/or studied with jazz greats Phil Markowitz (Chet Baker, Sarah Vaughan, David Liebman); Ritchie Bierach (John Scofield, Wayne Shorter); and Ed Maceachen (Stanley Turentine, Wynton Marsalis) to name a few. Chris has extensive experience as a band leader and guitar teacher.
Chris is available for hire as a musician for your event as a soloist or with a trio. He also has decades of experience teaching private lessons as well as classes and can be hired as a musical director, guest lecturer, or workshop leader.
